Law firms put the icing on the cake for Lancaster Boys and Girls Club

The Lancaster offices of law firms Blackhurst Swainson Goodier and Jobling & Knape teamed up for a ‘bake off’ to raise over £300 in aid of Lancaster Boys and Girls Club.

Organised by BSG’s receptionist Linda Standen, staff and partners at the two firms, together with  other local professionals, busily baked cakes, iced buns and fashioned their fancies to sell in aid of a deserving local charity.

Michael Gibson, Treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club, said, “We’re really grateful to the two firms for raising the money. Cuts in funding have had a serious impact on the club and all support is vital so we can continue our work with hundreds of local young children”.

Mark Burrow, Partner at BSG added, “Our hope is that while we’ve piled on the pounds eating the cakes, we’ve also helped pile on the pounds at the club too.”  Craig Hollingdrake , Partner at J&K said “ the staff were really excited to be able to support this local charity and have an excuse to eat lots of cake without feeling guilty!”.
