BSG Solicitor Qualifies

Blackhurst Swainson Goodier this month announces the qualification of Rebecca Butterfield to their practice. Completing her training contract on the 15th February 2008 Becky was admitted as a solicitor on 3rd March 2008.

After graduating in 2002 from Lancaster University, Becky worked with school groups in the Ardeche region of France. Whilst at university, Becky was an active member of the university boat club where she took part in the women's eight at Henley Women's Regatta - the first women's crew to do so in the club's history.

In 2004, Becky recommenced her studies and undertook a Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in Chester where she graduated in 2005 with distinction.

After enjoying one final summer working in France, Becky began work at the Lancaster County Court in November 2005 as an administrator before starting her training contract with Blackhurst Swainson Goodier Solicitors in February thefollowing year.

Becky has worked predominantly in the Family department but has also had the opportunity to undertake a wide varierty of other litigation matters.

Outside work, following a reasonable performance at the Lancaster 'Race for Life' 2006, Becky was inspired to join Lancaster and Morecambe Running Club and is now training for her first marathon, which will be taking place on 18th May 2008 in Windermere.

Commenting on her success Andie Brown the head of the firm's Family department said "Becky's contribution to the firm in her training period has been invaluable. We have been delighted to be part of her career development and now share her enjoyment in seeing her admitted as a fully qualified Solicitor. We have an established Family team here at BSG and Becky's addition to that team will reinforce the investment we have made for the benefit of our family based clients".
